Wiltshire Council has been trying to increase local community resilience and social capital. We have set aside some innovation funding and this is one of the ideas we are looking to develop further.
As is suggested here, groups will be able to blog post a project, disseminate that through existing networks such as Twitter, Facebook and traditional email. Local people and businesses can then either ignore, support (like), sign-up, volunteer, trade, donate, sponsor or offer other resources.
The groups posting projects could also be encouraged to offer volunteer incentives or time credits.
Early days, but it is a great idea!
